Medical insurance billers and coders organize and manage health information data and are responsible for documenting critical patient health information, including medical histories, symptoms, examination and test results, treatments, and other important health care services. There is an incredible need for more medical billers and coders nationwide. Enroll today and get the training you need for a rewarding new career. No previous experience necessary. You will become well versed in the terminology of the medical profession, become familiar with the ICD-10-CM and PCS requirements, and knowledgeable of updated billing procedures.

In this course you will learn to navigate the ICD-10-CM system of over 68,000 codes. You'll gain an understanding of ICD-10-PCS and how patient care is tracked and coded. Learn to bill clients with great accuracy and meaning, and how to use the most complete codes and "match" codes for maximum reimbursement. a valuable learning experience for both the beginner and current biller. You will learn medical billing techniques, how to complete medical and itemized statements, how to prepare HCFA-1 claim forms for Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other private carriers. Learn how to process worker claims, liens and provide complete paperwork to ensure maximum reimbursement. We will also cover an introduction to the hospital medical field, learning correct coding and collecting of claims. Hospital based processes will be taught, along with HMO's and IPA's, processing from start to finish to receive proper payments for services rendered.

You are responsible for purchasing your own required textbooks. The total cost of the textbooks is estimated to be $500-$950 depending on whether you purchase new or used, and where. It is strongly recommended that potential students attend the FREE Medical Billing Orientation meeting, where you will meet the instructor and gain an indepth understanding of the program and what textbooks you're required to purchase and where you can purchase them. She is fully experienced in Billing and Coding, and has worked with different specialties in the medical field. She is a credentialed instructor, and a Certified Billing Instructor.
