Birdwatching connects you with nature in a fun, inexpensive and educational way. Whether you're an active outdoorsperson or someone who prefers relaxing on their back porch, this class can transform your outdoor experience! Many families participate in birdwatching across generations, with grandparents and grandchildren often finding a shared interest when they are birdwatching together. Birding is also a great way to meet other people who also spend time appreciating these wonderful little creatures. Join us as we learn how to identify birds using field marks, songs, and behaviors. We'll also talk about selecting binoculars and field guides, and pick up some techniques for successful birdwatching. Children ages 8 and up may attend with a parent or guardian at no extra cost. Sandy Masuo has served as the associate editor for the LA Zoo for 14 years, and avidly watches the bounty of birds in Griffith Park.
This course will be offered via ZOOM (live online instruction). The instructor will provide the ZOOM registration link prior to the course beginning. ZOOM is a free online application.
